Cosme, located in New York City’s Flatiron district, is Chef Enrique Olvera’s first U.S. restaurant. Since opening in 2014 Cosme has garnered great acclaim, earning a three-star review from The New York Times and a James Beard Award nomination for Best New Restaurant in America. Cosme was also recently named the Top New York Restaurant of 2015 by The New York Times and the 2016 Best Mexican Restaurant in America by The Daily Meal.
Chef Olvera creates dishes rooted in Mexican flavors and traditions, while also celebrating local and seasonal ingredients from the Hudson Valley and surrounding region.
Your private evening hosted by Chef Olvera will begin with an hors d’oeuvres reception including specialty cocktails made with artisan tequilas and mezcales. During the reception, guests will have the opportunity to visit the kitchen to see the Cosme team in action.
Guests will then be seated for a specially-curated five-course menu with wine pairings. Courses will include a combination of family-style and individually-plated items featuring signature favorites and specialties. Chef Olvera will interact with guests and share his culinary journey from Mexico to the United States. As a memento of the evening each attendee will take home a pre-signed copy of Chef Enrique Olvera’s latest book, Mexico from the Inside Out.
Chef Enrique Olvera discovered his love for cooking in the kitchen of his grandparents’ bakery in Mexico City, Mexico as a young boy. His ambitions took him far from home to New York’s Culinary Institute of America where his formal training began. At 24, he opened his first restaurant, Pujol in Mexico City, which has consistently made the San Pellegrino prestigious list of the “World’s 50 Best Restaurants,” landing the 16th best spot in 2015.
