Internationally acclaimed chef Daniel Rose of Chez La Vieille and La Bourse et La Vie in Paris made his way to NYC last year and opened Le Coucou with James Beard Award Winning Outstanding Restaurateur 2017, Stephen Starr. At Le Coucou, Chef Rose pays tribute to classic French technique and dishes, with his distinct, local perspective, as well as some of the most exclusive ingredients available.
During this special Inside Access from Chase holiday evening guests will experience chef Daniel Rose’s vision of simple yet refined French cuisine beginning with a cocktail and canapés reception followed by a specially-curated four-course dinner paired with wines. Chef Rose will visit with guests and share his culinary journey from Paris to New York.
Le Coucou, located in SOHO, was designed by Roman and Williams. The interiors were created to match the purity and integrity of Rose’s cuisine. A grand procession of pewtered-steel chandeliers hang from the exposed concrete, lighting the room with a glow from hand-blown glass shades. Custom cast-glass sconces partner the chandeliers from their posts on the walls, where existing brick has been carefully whitewashed to reveal layers of historical paint.
Le Coucou was recently named a Best New Restaurant 2017 finalist by Bon Appetit and received a three-star review from Pete Wells of The New York Times (2016).
